Music Matters

James offers an eclectic mix of Rock, Popular, and Country music.  His musical influences  range from Rock 'n' Roll performers like Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, and Buddy Holly in the 1950’s, to Johnny Rivers and Neil Diamond in the 1960’s.   James perfected his style in the 1970’s when--influenced by performers  like Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Glen Campbell, and Kenny Rogers—his  music took on a Country flavor.  James has a large repertoire covering  all styles for easy listening.  He enjoys working in intimate venues,  and delivers powerful renditions of the songs you love.  

James began his musical career in Canton, Ohio, performing at high school dances. During his college years he worked with several combos, performing at college dances and other events, as  well as in night clubs and lounges.
After college James stayed in music and went on the road with the Clichés, a  "four piece" band that toured extensively throughout the Northeast and  Midwest.

In 1969, he moved to Los Angeles and performed for many years in Marina Del Rey, and other venues Southern California.

James now lives in Orange County, California, and continues to perform regularly at "independent and assisted living" retirement communities.
